This webinar is designed to equip DPP lifestyle coaches with the tools and strategies needed to address health disparities and food insecurity in diabetes prevention. The program emphasizes how social determinants of health, such as access to nutritious foods and socioeconomic status, impact diabetes risk. Participants will learn practical ways to promote food security, provide culturally sensitive care, and address barriers to healthy eating, empowering diverse populations to achieve better diabetes outcomes.
Learning Outcome
The goal of this webinar is to enhance the ability of lifestyle coaches to integrate health equity and food security strategies into diabetes prevention programs. By the end of the activity, participants will be able to assess food security issues in their clients, apply culturally appropriate interventions, and help clients improve access to healthy food options, ultimately reducing diabetes risk in underserved populations.
