s I mentioned in my previous post, the Young Leaders in Diabetes are a group of young adults from all over the world who seek opportunities to change and improve the lives of people with all types of diabetes. For some, this means engaging with the greater public via radio shows or published books, while others work within the diabetes community to find ways to encourage, inspire, and strengthen connections. I work with the communications team to put together a monthly newsletter to show what Young Leaders are up to, and their dynamic work is nothing short of amazing! I'm excited to share the most recent issue with all of you.
I submitted a video that I produced at a recent diabetes event in my area, which several local AADE members attended. The multimedia aspect of the newsletter is important to me not only because of my video background, but because there are so many ways to engage with people. As CDEs know from teaching diabetes management skills, using multiple senses changes the whole experience of one simple way of communicating.
Be sure to check out the entire May issue of the newsletter and visit the Young Leaders in Diabetes Facebook page to stay up-to-date on past and future issues.
