Only a Few More Days Until AADE15!

Over the past week, I have been exploring the new AADE website. By searching the various web links, I had one thought on my mind: Can I say that I am jealous? I am jealous of those attending the AADE15 Annual Meeting in New Orleans.
First of all, I have never been to New Orleans. I am sure the venue will be great. New Orleans would be a fabulous place to visit due to its history, the culture, and OMG the food. I am sure the food and atmosphere would be fantastic. Second, the AADE15 meeting is packed with great presentations and speakers. There is always so much going on and many decisions to be made when attending an AADE meeting. Do I want to plan day-by-day? Or by track? Or by category of expertise? Will I be too tired to attend any of the networking or customer appreciation sessions in the evening?
For this year’s meeting, there are several tracks to choose, such as “Program and Business Management” and “Teaching/Learning Principles with a Focus on Behavior Change.” Among these tracks, members will be able to attend specific breakout or general sessions. There are also master classes and special symposiums. If I was attending, I would definitely check out all the research posters in order to learn about the innovative strategies and practices being completed. I love to learn about completed or in-progress research on diabetes. In addition, it is an amazing opportunity to network among students of health care professions and practicing professionals in the field.
One of the unique features of this annual meeting is Type 1 Day. Friday, August 7 will have six presentations about type 1 diabetes mellitus. You could potentially attend all the sessions, but may have a difficult time being in two places at once for the 2:00 pm session, which features “Type 1 Diabetes Guidelines” and “Type 1 Diabetes and Physical Activity.” While you can organize and plan ahead for each day, plan well as the meeting is packed full of information, presentations and sessions. You can access all information now, as the slides have been uploaded on the schedule planner through the AADE15 meeting site (files for each presentation, if provided, can be found at the bottom of each session's page).
If you are not able to attend the meeting like me, then you can consider purchasing a bundled pack for AADE15 Sessions on Demand. You can get up to 20 hours of continuing education credit from sessions at the live Annual Meeting.
