Description
This program is designed to deliver the most current diabetes nutrition education topics to non-dietitian providers. We will discuss nutrition assessment questions, carbohydrate and other macronutrient distribution, how to decipher nutrition labels, food and medication safety, and effective behavioral modification tools.

Learning Outcome
Upon completion of the activity, participants will report an increase in knowledge base encompassing the procedures involved in conducting nutrition assessments, adept utilization of nutrition and food-related information to ensure medication safety, and the proficient development of comprehensive care plans. These plans are structured to actively engage individuals with diabetes in employing effective behavioral adjustments for optimal health outcomes.

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
-- Conduct a comprehensive nutrition assessment, including evaluating dietary intake, identifying nutritional deficiencies, assessing dietary habits, and formulating appropriate nutrition recommendations based on individual patient needs and goals.
