Description
For those patients who have reached a point in their diabetes journey where their pancreas cannot keep up, sometimes prescribing mealtime insulin is not enough. The patient needs to be successful at delivering the insulin as you prescribed. You now have quite a few choices to match the insulin delivery method to achieve the most success at fitting in the individual patients’ life.
Insulin pens are readily available, but can be cumbersome to remember and embarrassing in certain situations. Pumps are flexible and can be fine-tuned, but can be expensive and tech heavy for certain people. In this session you will learn about a new bolus-only insulin patch that can be worn for up to 3 days and can be trained in about 15 minutes. This new option will allow patients to have insulin with them at all times and dose the insulin with a simple click of a button. You will have the opportunity to see the training of the patch.
