Description

Insulin dosing in pediatrics can be tricky. Automated insulin delivery (AID) systems can be helpful in increasing time in range in this age group but come with their own common issues and need for troubleshooting. This talk addresses current pediatric recommendations around technology, reviewing the available systems and on the market, and ends with case studies sharing tips on situations such as growth hormone spikes, rebound hyperglycemia, and exercise.

Attendees will apply evidence-based solutions and interventions for equitable healthcare, including comprehensive care for individuals with diabetes and related conditions, addressing behavioral health concerns, advocating for sustainable technology-enabled care, implementing interprofessional team practices, and enhancing clinical care and support in diverse settings.

This activity is designed for individual or groups of diabetes care and education specialists, including nurses, dietitians, dietetic technicians, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, physicians, PAs, social workers, and other health care providers interested in staying up to date on current practices of care for people with diabetes and other related conditions.

CBDCE does not approve continuing education. The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists is on the CBDCE list of Approved Providers.

Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM)

ADCES is the administering body for the Advanced Diabetes Management credentials. Continuing education programs offered by ADCES can be used toward fulfilling BC-ADM Certification and recertification requirements.
