Bringing together all the data collected from the Dexcom CGM system, Clarity allows the person with diabetes to seamlessly link their data to health care providers. Beyond the glucose numbers, the value of Clarity ensures that adjustments to management strategies can be tailored to the need of the individual.

The pearls in practice and for use by the person with diabetes include:

• Interactive reports – Hover over data in the database and see notes, values, medication use and time of day.
• Adjustable target range – Individualize low to high target range to meet the needs of each person with diabetes.
• Link to reports – Individual users can quickly evaluate statistics with a link from the Dexcom G6 app direct to Clarity reports.
• Clinical connection portal – Easy to connect data from the app to the Clinical Clarity account. No need to be in office, no need for physical upload.
• Complimentary clinic account – Share data easily by entering patient and secure invite sent via email. Free for clinical practice.
• Improved time in range. Teaching point for office visit with use of Clarity – People with diabetes who analyze their own Clarity reports between visits spend more time in range. 
• Data security – Clinical accounts provide private and secure data evaluation for each patient with individual account links sent direct from the clinical database.
• Comparison charts – View one time period compared to another after making adjustments to evaluate improved time in range vs. room for additional adjustments.
• Glucose Management Indicator (GMI) – Get an approximate view of what A1C may be based on average glucose from the past 2+ weeks of data.
• Interpretation reimbursement – MD interpretation of Clarity Overview report is billable to Medicare or private insurers (CPT code 95251).
• App compatibility – Compatible with Apple Health and Android.

Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) is structured around seven diabetes self-care behaviors, known as the ADCES7 Self-Care Behaviors®. Diabetes care and education specialists can help you set priorities and work with you on improving your own management in each of the following areas:

• Monitoring - Tracking data influencing diabetes outcomes.
• Problem Solving - Identifying and solving issues for better diabetes outcomes.

Users need internet access to view and share glucose data in the Dexcom CLARITY app.

The app is compatible with mobile devices operating on: 

• iOS 13.0 and up 
• Android OS 9.0 and up.

For successful data syncing, patients must:

• use the Dexcom Mobile CGM app

• have a smartphone with mobile internet access.

Is Dexcom Clarity Safe and Secure?

The CLARITY app does not share user data with third parties. Also, Dexcom encrypts user data during transit, ensuring its security from the device to the server.

The app cannot:

• make changes to the Dexcom CGM (continuous glucose monitor) system
• modify recorded CGM data
• show real-time glucose data.

The CLARITY app is free to download on Apple and Android devices. No license or subscription is needed.

Frequent* Dexcom CLARITY viewers experience up to 15% increased time spent in range (70-180 mg/dl) compared to non-users.
