T:Connect

The t:connect mobile app gives t:slim x2 insulin pump users the ability to control their insulin pump from their smartphone. The app allows for convenient, discreet insulin boluses via a Bluetooth® connection, reducing the need for insulin pump interactions.

For complete information, visit Tandem Diabetes Mobile Apps.
App Category:
  • Device Manufacturer-Provided Companion Apps
  • Medicine/Medication
Intended User:
  • Caregiver
  • Person with Diabetes

Using the app, individuals can:

  • control t:slim x2 insulin pump functions, including insulin delivery
  • view the insulin pump display
  • receive push notifications and alerts
  • view glucose trends and current continuous glucose monitor (CGM) readings
  • upload pump data to their cloud-based t:connect account
  • view and share data with care partners.

Who Is t:connect Best Suited for?

The app is for people with diabetes who:

  • use a t:slim x2 insulin pump
  • want to remotely request, stop or cancel an insulin dose from their insulin pump
  • prefer to use their smartphone to control the insulin pump rather than the pump screen.

Caregivers can use the app to deliver insulin doses to individuals with diabetes. For example, a parent can use the t:connect app to initiate an insulin dose for their child if they have:

  • access to the smartphone running the t:connect app (able to enter the passcode or face authentication)
  • the smartphone and pump within 20 feet of one another and an active Bluetooth connection
Caregivers should keep in mind that the insulin pump can only pair with one smartphone at a time.

  • The app allows the user to have access to their glucose readings/current pump dosing and option to bolus directly from the phone
  • Before the pump can upload to Tandem Source, the current pump must be paired with the app itself
  • Confirm that the user is logged into the account – if not, the pump will not upload
  • In the event the pump has not been uploading to Source for over 1 week, ask the person to manually upload via their Tandem Source to ensure the information is more readily available.  Otherwise, it may take several days for the information to be visible.
