The Medtronic Extended infusion set is designed for longer wear, without compromising comfort or insulin delivery.
The Medtronic Extended infusion set has a 90–degree soft cannula. It is ready to use in a pre–loaded insertion device with automatic needle retraction.
The infusion set may be worn for a maximum of seven days.
The design of the Extended Reservoir allows you the ability to change it without having to change the infusion set

Gently hold the cannula housing steady with one finger, then squeeze the sides of the site connector and pull out from the cannula housing.
The new tubing is designed to help keep insulin stable longer by preventing the loss of insulin preservatives and reducing its inflammatory response to maintain the flow of insulin within the tube, and ultimately extend the wear of the set. The new H-cap connector reduces the risk of occlusions or insulin particles getting stuck in the filter and affecting the flow of insulin. This helps keep the insulin stable and ensure that the infusion set at the infusion site is performing reliably.
The adhesive patch is designed for comfort and durability for up to seven days.
Important Safety Information:
The Extended Infusion Set is indicated for up to 7 days of wear for the subcutaneous infusion of insulin from an infusion pump. It is NOT indicated for intravenous (IV) infusion or the infusion of blood or blood products. Inaccurate medication delivery, infection and/or site irritation may result from improper insertion and maintenance of the infusion site. Before insertion, clean the insertion site with isopropyl alcohol. Remove the needle guard before inserting the infusion set. If using this infusion set for the first time, do the first set-up in the presence of your healthcare professional. Do not leave air in the infusion set. Prime completely. Check frequently to make sure the soft cannula remains firmly in place as you may not feel pain if it pulls out. The soft cannula must always be completely inserted to receive the full amount of medication. If the infusion site becomes inflamed, replace the set, and use a new site until the first site has healed. Replace the infusion set if the tape becomes loose, or if the soft cannula becomes fully or partially dislodged from the skin. Regularly replace the infusion set as indicated in the instructions for use, or per the insulin labeling, whichever duration is shorter. For more details
