Brooke Cassoff, NBC-HWC recently became an ADCES® member this past year but is already feeling the benefits of being a part of the association. We asked Brooke what some of her highlights have been with ADCES over the past year.
Why do you love being a member/what does membership mean to you?
I love the ADCES community and having so many opportunities to learn from the experiences and best practices of others that are wholeheartedly dedicated to improving the lives of those of us with diabetes. ADCES inspires and enables me to bring my best to my clients and community and has provided me with invaluable, research-backed resources to do so.
What is your favorite part about being a diabetes care and education specialist?
Having the privilege of witnessing the moment that clients with diabetes realize that, even with this condition, they are unstoppable and capable of living into their dreams. It is priceless.
Favorite ADCES resources/programs?
It’s difficult to choose! All of the resources ADCES provides are extremely valuable to me.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a new diabetes care and education specialist or someone considering the profession?
Never stop learning from your clients or patients—they are our best teachers!
