Why do you love being an ADCES member?
ADCES provides a community and space for collaboration and sharing ideas.
What is your favorite part about being a diabetes care and education specialist?
I love having the opportunity to connect with people with diabetes to provide guidance, insight or just a listening ear. When there is an "ah ha" moment and things turn around for the person with diabetes, I feel a wonderful sense of accomplishment.
Favorite ADCES resources/programs?
The ADCES Annual Conference is my favorite, and I am excited that it has returned to an in-person meeting. Additionally, ADCES in Practice provides practical information for everyday practice, and The Huddle podcast helps you keep up to date on the go.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a new diabetes care and education specialist or someone considering the profession?
Be open to opportunities to learn from and engage with your colleagues and be sure to treat each person with diabetes as an individual with unique needs.
